Unbridled adventure awaits in the bustling waters of British Columbia’s Pacific coast. Surfers can challenge monster waves while beach bums kick back in the sun-soaked sand. Whether you’re looking for coastal recreation or relaxation, Tofino is one of British Columbia’s best options for a timeless vacation.
While the natural splendor may be timeless, you’d likely prefer a Tofino resort with updated accommodations. That’s why Long Beach Lodge Resort has introduced a wave of upgrades and additions to continually enhance the experience and service. New facilities, exciting tour options, and updated accommodations allow you to upgrade your adventures.
“In celebration of its 10th anniversary, the new Surf Club Adventure Centre opened, providing guests with a fully equipped centre complete with changing rooms, rentals, hot tub, and coffee bar for comfort and enjoyment,” Director of Operations Samantha Hackett said. “Long Beach Lodge Resort is set right on the ocean on Cox Bay, Tofino and provides beautifully appointed accommodations in a private, wild Pacific West Coast setting.”
The Surf Club Adventure Centre truly is a one-of-a-kind facility and a first for Canada. Setting a new standard for the surfing world, this spa-like structure is open during the day to all visitors who wish to experience the professional and customized surf instruction of the resort. During the evening, guests will have exclusive access to all the outstanding amenities.
Enjoy even more aquatic adventures on the “Catch of the Day” marine tour, which was launched in 2013. These customized tours are led by captain and naturalist Josh Lewis, who shares his love and knowledge of the Tofino area during a 3-hour expedition. Customized to take full advantage of wildlife sightings, ocean conditions, and guests’ interests, the boat seats 12 while featuring a heated cabin and washroom facilities.
“Known as Tofino’s Luxury Adventure Resort, Long Beach Lodge Resort offers three in-house, on the water adventures for guests: surf lessons, stand-up paddle board lessons, and Marine Adventure Tours with sightseeing highlights, depending on season, including whales, bears, otters, and many other sea life and seabirds,” Resort Owner Tim Hackett said. “A visit to the West Coast is not complete without an adventure on the water.”
After an action-packed day, come unwind in the newly renovated Lodge. All of the hall carpets have been replaced, and in all of the guest rooms you will find new armoires. The resort has replaced corner showers with new, larger showers. All pet friendly rooms have had the carpets replaced with wood flooring.
Do-it-yourself diners are welcome, as Long Beach Lodge Resort has upgraded some of the kitchen appliances in the cottages to stainless steel as well as added dishwashers. Get things cooking in the barbecue shelter, a centrally located barbecue area available to all guests. Shortly, a number of picnic tables will be added so guests will have the option of eating in the expansive outdoors.
Coming in the summer of 2014 is the SandBar Bistro, which will offer a casual beachfront dining experience on the patio. Watch the rolling Pacific waves as the summer sun warms your skin. Aside from all these additions, the resort also features exceptional amenities that have become staples.
Dine in style at the iconic Great Room. Living up to its name, this grand area is an ocean away from ordinary. The delectable flavors of the innovative chef’s cuisine please your palate when paired with a wide variety of wines. If you’re looking for a great drink, take a seat at the bar and sip an award-winning martini. Put up your feet and relax by the welcoming fireplace, Pacific Ocean waves undulating just outside the windows.
