The words “spa getaway” conjure up images of women submerged up to their necks in mud, female faces coated in an exfoliating cream, and nails being painted with glossy polish. Very rarely do men long for such a vacation. Well, that’s all about to change.
At The Lodge of Woodloch, tranquil spa offerings and male-centric activities combine to create their Mancation. So, crawl out of the man cave and enjoy an extensive list of spa treatments, outdoor adventures, and - of course - beer. This Hawley, Pennsylvania haven is really growing on the guys.
The award-winning destination spa encompasses 40,000 square feet and offers a myriad of manly options and 58 luxury rooms. The spa is thrilled to partner with a new male-oriented skincare line to be featured in their male-focused treatments. Organic Male OM4 believes that the science of skin care exists within nature and requires minimal human intervention. They create small batch micro-blends of precise formulations using food-grade natural, and whenever possible, organic and biodynamic botanicals.
“The Organic Male OM4 product line was selected to enhance our treatments based on our similar approach and philosophy,” Spa Director Nancy Deaton said.
The relaxation begins with the Gentleman’s Facial, which is designed specifically for men’s individual skin type to remedy the problems related to daily shaving and excessive environmental exposure. The Gentlemen’s Mani and Pedi begins with a soothing soak and brisk exfoliation blending the therapeutic benefits of thermal mineral salts and eucalyptus followed by hydrating cuticle care and shaping and then a rejuvenating massage.
Choose from pampering packages like the Men’s Retreat, which starts with an invigorating exfoliation using sea salt and eucalyptus to cleanse, followed by an energizing massage to increase circulation and relieve tired, aching muscles and joints. The Father/Son Getaway Package will be available beginning June 1 through December 31, 2014 and offers 30 percent off room rates. Relax in bulk with the Mancation Package, which offers up to 10 percent off when groups of six or more men travel together.
“We have heard a tremendous amount of interest from our male clientele to have more offerings that speak directly to their specific needs,” Deaton said. “Men are taking a much more proactive approach to their well being and have a much broader understanding of the results they are looking for in the treatment room.”
Each stay includes lavish accommodations, three gourmet meals daily, and stimulating workshops and speakers. Enjoy outdoor adventures like fly fishing, kayaking, hiking, biking, archery, and more. Take advantage of health and fitness amenities such as pools with hydro massage waterfalls, indoor and outdoor Jacuzzis, steam rooms, saunas, and a state-of-the-art 3,000-square-foot cardio weight studio.
After a treatment, unwind with an ale, as the resort has a unique partnership with craft brewery Dogfish Head Craft Ales. Join in later this year for their Dogfish Head Craft Ales Weekend, September 5-7th, and indulge in the delicious tastes with the guys. The theme for the weekend is “Music Collaborations,” focusing on Dogfish Head ales that were inspired by musicians! Founder Sam Calagione will host beer tastings, a book signing and much more!
The Lodge at Woodloch offers a more masculine take on the spa experience with male-centered spa treatments, outdoor adventures, and a bevy of beer. Come drift away!
