Welcome to your Island hideaway! “Shell Cottage” is a charming 4 bedroom and 3 bathroom house located right next to the Audubon Bird Sanctuary and just steps away from your own private beach on the Gulf of Mexico! The Great Room has picturesque views of the Gulf and the Island wildlife. Large windows and two sets of French doors provide scenic views of the porch overlooking the water. This room is furnished with a bistro table with two bar chairs, two cozy chairs, loveseat, sofa, and handcrafted décor. For movie nights, this room has a 65-inch flat screen TV with satellite, a sound system, and Blu-ray player. This room opens to the dining room—perfect for entertaining the family!
The beautiful kitchen is fully furnished and stocked with everything you may need for preparing a wonderful meal. This modern kitchen is decked out with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and a pleasant design. With appliances like a coffeemaker, double sink, knife block, refrigerator, oven/cook top, tea carafe, microwave, and all the cookware you may need, you’ll love cooking in this kitchen. Beautiful paintings overlook an expansive dining room table that seats 8 with room for 3 more at the bar. If you’re in the mood for grilling, you’ll find a gas grill underneath the house—great for cooking the fish the kids caught earlier!
Upstairs, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, flat screen TVs, and Blu-ray players in every room will please everyone in the family. The Master Bedroom is cozy with views of the deck and beach, stylish furniture, and 48-inch flat screen TV and features windows that open to listen to the surf. The Master Bath offers large countertops, Jacuzzi tub, sink vanity, private toilet, separate shower and a gigantic walk-in closet. On the other side of the house, you’ll find the other two bedrooms and bathroom. The second bedroom offers a king bed with a 42-inch flat screen TV and comfy furniture. Third bedroom offers a queen bed, daybed with trundle, closet, and flat screen TV. These two bedrooms share the second bath, which is complete with a tub/shower duo, toilet, and sink vanity.
This home is also equipped with an elevator! Downstairs, you’ll find the “Bunk Room”—a studio-like room that sleeps 6! This room has two sets of bunk beds—one set with a double beds while the other offers a futon on the bottom and a single bed on top. The Bunk Room has a full bathroom with toilet, sink vanity, and shower. This room also offers a flat screen TV, microwave, and mini-fridge, and the Bunk Room has a separate heating and cooling system!
Outside is a huge deck with views of beach and island. The deck has comfortable patio furniture and a child gate, which makes this spot great for dinners outside or afternoon naps. Underneath the house, you’ll find plenty of parking space, patio furniture, a gas grill, and a hammock!
If you can’t leave your furbabies at home, Shell Cottage is a Dog Friendly Property. A non-refundable of charge of $100 per dog is required for each one that comes to Shell Cottage. All pets must be reported at the time your reservation is made. We will require the total number of dogs their breed and weight. All dogs must be on a flea, tick and heartworm prevention program and have all current vaccinations. The Town of Dauphin Island leash law requires dogs to be on leash and properly secured when outdoors and also requires that dog waste from rental property yard, beaches and public areas be picked up and properly disposed of.
