Vista Verde prides themselves on having a 1:1 guest-to-staff ration that provides guests more opportunities to partake in the many activities. Professional guides are utilized to lead guests to the stunning sights whether it be back-country skiing or snowshoeing. Having a snow shortage won't be a problem here as the ranch gets up to 360 inches a year! Vista Verde has a fleet of snowmobiles set aside for guests to take out and explore the otherwise rough terrain that typically can't be explored in the winter. There is also an opportunity to go on either a two hour or all day excursion through the snowy landscape leading up to Farwell Mountain, crossing through the Routt National Forest on the way. Near the north east corner of the Uncomphagre National Forest is the Arrowhead Mountain Lodge, a 12 room lodge with a restaurant and full bar.

Arrowhead Mountain Lodge is snowmobiling heaven! The locals know first hand as snowmobiles are sometimes the only source of transportation around the area. Guests are welcome to pull their trailers up to the lodge and and go snowmobiling on the miles of groomed trail as well as cross the un-tracked powder filled meadows. The lodge is surrounded by the San Juan Mountains of Colorado giving guests brilliant sights to take in. After a full day out, come back to the lodge to have a cocktail with your dinner at the restaurant!
