They say a blushing bride should walk down the aisle with four things in tow: something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue. We can’t speak for Australia’s brides-to-be, but we did find a hotel that offers all of the above – and a generous dash of luxury – on your Sydney vacation!
It may be our humble opinion, but we think InterContinental Sydney’s “something old” is a whole lot better than your Grandmother’s worn-out kerchief. The hotel’s rich history dates back to the early 19th century, and you’ll find telling signs of this in its parquet floors and intricate staircases. As for the something new, that would be the InterContinental Sydney’s complete renovation in 2004 – a spectacular project that transformed this Australian hotel into the pillar of contemporary luxury it is today.
Next on the list comes something borrowed, but that’s an easy fix at this Sydney luxury hotel. The rich traditions of grand hotel dining rooms are recreated inside the InterContinental’s Café Opera, where lavish breakfasts, succulent seafood dishes and exquisite desserts are always on the menu. And for the piece de resistance, the fabled something blue, we found it hard to settle on just one – so we didn’t! We’ll let you decide between the deep blue waters of Sydney Harbour, the bubbling pedicure baths of the Sebastian Salon or the sparkling surface of the indoor pool.
