Each year, couples from California and well beyond flock to the blooming gardens and period-style architecture of the Bissell House for intimate weddings and romantic receptions. And we had no trouble understanding why: the inn’s picturesque private lawn, front porch and pool area are a memorable way to begin any union.

Of course, a wedding isn’t the only way to enjoy the historic charm and romance of this 19th-century inn. No matter what style of Los Angeles getaway you choose, the Bissell House promises to deliver it with style. And we can’t imagine a more appropriate location for a Victorian inn than historic South Pasadena, where you’ll find plenty of evidence of a bygone era in antique and specialty shops, gourmet food and wine stores – even a restored soda fountain and a 1920s movie house! Rooms in the Bissell House are elegantly appointed with period antiques, floral chintz fabrics and Victorian era décor. The private baths attached to each room - with claw foot or Jacuzzi tubs tucked behind French doors - are gems just waiting to be discovered. From the Los Angeles International Airport, take Sepulveda Boulevard toward I-105. Merge onto I-105 East toward Norwalk and onto I-110 North toward Los Angeles. I-110 becomes CA-110 North. Take Exit 31A to Orange Grove Avenue, take a left and proceed to the Bissell House.
