Built in the 1920’s, the Water Gap Country Club's historic course is rich in both scenery and tradition. Designed by Robert White (the first president of the PGA), the course is extremely hilly and can be challenging to the inexperienced. To go into depth on each of the five courses could fill several pages, so instead we've chose to focus on one in particular: Atunyote. As the longest of Turning Stone Resort’s three championship courses, Atunyote also has one of the highest learning curves. In 2006 it was the site of both the PGA Professional National Championship and the BC Open. All of this would make it seem like it's unwelcoming to beginners, but not so fast! Atunyote has the beauty, charm, and closer tees to make even relative newcomers have a great time.
