This rustic home is the perfect restorative home for a family trip or for a few couples looking for a peaceful retreat.Located on a quiet cove on Lake Buchanan, the retreat is just 11 miles to town and 66 miles away from downtown Austin. Inside the no-frills but comfortable lodge, you'll be treated to everything you'd ever need when taking a break from the great outdoors, including a fully stocked kitchen, living room, wood fireplace, and two decks overlooking the water. Up to eight guests can share the space comfortably thanks to two full baths and three bedrooms. Bedrooms are located on the top floor, including the master suite boasting views of the lake! Extra features like the central A/C, a washer and dryer, and a kitchen stocked with modern appliances (including a coffee maker and dishwasher) will make you feel like royalty, while warming your toes by the fire with a bottle of wine from the new local winery Torr Na Lochs is a dreamlike way to end a perfect day.
You'll find two kayaks, a rowboat, and a canoe at this home, which you can take out on the water for a peaceful reprieve (please note that this home does not have its own boat dock). Beyond your lakeside home you may venture through underground river caves at Longhorn Cavern State Park or hike into the Devil's Waterhole at Inks Lake State Park. Outdoor equipment rentals and guides are aplenty, whether you want to take part in the river cruise or look for bald eagles.
The city of Burnet is charming and rich in culture, perfect for a day of romantic escapades! Take a walking tour at the Historic Square or watch a Wild West reenactment. The Highlands Lakes Air Museum, Hill Country Science Mill, and Fort Croghan Museum provide interactive exhibits for all ages and major urban attractions are within 66 miles in Austin!
