Area historians note that the excellent cuisine and true warmth and care that Mr. and Mrs. Morris W. Partridge offered guests created their inn's prosperity. The annex for the servants of the northern and Canadian families who wintered in Augusta is now gone. But hidden somewhere within the Inn's walls is the framework of the original 1879 home, which Partridge purchased at the turn of the century and expanded intermittently over the years.
