Nantahala River Lodge

The list of fun things to do and see for families in the area is a sizable one. The Lodge sits on two level acres with 1400 feet of frontage on the Nantahala River, with many surrounding sheer rock walls that soar for hundreds of feet above the river. The lodge is also within walking distance of the Nantahala River launch site, the Nantahala River bicycle path and the Bartram Trail, known for their natural beauty!

The Nantahala River Lodge sits on the bank of the Nantahala River and is centrally located between many of the best trout streams in the state. In addition to the great trout streams, several wonderful lakes and rivers are nearby, just waiting to be fished!

For the perfect romantic getaway, head over to Smokemont Riding Stables, which offers a safe and fun horseback riding experience within the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The natural riding trails feature beautiful wooded scenery, native flora and fauna and mountain streams and waterfalls, the perfect setting for making memories with your sweetheart!

The Nantahala National Forest is a spectacular spot for hunting! According to the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, any lands open the public hunting are called “game lands.” Many game animals thrive in the national forests. Of course, hunters must have the proper licenses or permits needed to hunt, so don't forget!

Luxury is exceedingly easy to find here, from the deck overlooking the river to the three full baths featuring native stone showers. The well-equipped kitchen comes complete with stainless steel appliances, while the cabin's interior is made of reclaimed wood and native stone, highlighted by beautiful stacked stone wood burning fireplace!
