Autumn is a particularly delightful time to visit historic downtown Taylorsville, when apples are harvested and leaves are brilliantly colored, inspiring peaceful walks through tree lined streets. Dunk for apples at Apple Festival, featuring local crafts, talent, food, and of course, apples! The festival is held the third Saturday in October.

Apple City Bed & Breakfast offers four bedrooms named for different types of apples. The town, known historically for the apples grown in the Brushy Mountains, is only 20 minutes from four larger neighboring cities: Hickory, Lenoir, Wilkesboro and Statesville, all having many points of interest.
