The Martin Hill Inn consists of two period buildings;. The Main House, circa, 1815, and The Guest House, circa 1850. The land on which the Inn is situated was sold by New Hampshire Lt. Gov. George Vaughn to the Martin family in 1710 for 50 British pounds. Over the years, this area of Portsmouth became known as Martin Hill. The Inn is within walking distance of Portsmouth's shops, restaurants and historical attractions.
