At the height of development between 1925 and 1945, Ocean Drive was referred to by visitors as the "American Riviera." Built in 1937, The Park Central, a classic Art Deco hotel by master architect Henry Hohauser, was purchased in 1986 for complete restoration. Taking a cue from the front porch's metal railing, Nautical Moderne was the choice for the décor, a fine complement to the palette of deco pastels, the expanse of ocean view windows, and the sensational tropical breezes that drew American's chic and famous to Miami Beach in the 1930's.
