Although the precise origins are lost in time, Amherst Lodge dates back several hundred years and is a house of tremendous character. The house overlooks the garden and stream to a bank, which is planted with rhododendrons, azaleas and other shrubs. In spring the bank is covered with a stunning yellow carpet of daffodils and throughout the rest of the year it provides a splendid variety of colour and interest. Amherst Lodge is a large traditional house, which sleeps just eight people per night.
