The Rose and Crown Hotel is a fifteen century coaching inn which is situated in the lovely Wensleydale village of Bainbridge overlooking the village green which is complete with mediaeval stocks and is flanked by mellow stone houses. Boasting a founding date of 1445, the custom of blowing the forest horn to guide travellers to the safety still continues from Holy Rood to Shrovetide. When not in use, the horn hangs in the Rose and Crown.
