When you think of beautiful vineyards, where do you picture them? Most see vineyards in locales like California, France, and the Italian countryside, places known for their culture, beautiful weather, and easy-going lifestyle. And while it’s true that many of the best vineyards can be found there, what if we told you that there’s a world-class vineyard in the heart of the Midwest? Gervasi Vineyard’s sole mission is to provide their guests with the total winery experience.
First things first: you’ll want to spend more than one day at Gervasi, so as to best see and sample all that they offer (which is a lot). Thus, you’ll need a place to stay. Lucky for you, Gervasi’s onsite boutique Inn, The Villas, features six separate villas divided into 24 luxury suites. Each is Tuscan-inspired, and includes a cozy fireplace and a spacious bathroom with walk-in shower and heated towel bars. There’s simply no feeling better than, after a long day out and about, returning to an incredibly opulent room where you can plop down, relax, and recharge your batteries.
Speaking of being out and about, there’s a huge variety of things to do in and around the Vineyard, the magnum opus being the vineyard itself. Whether you’re a local wine lover, diner, family, business, or tourist, you’ll find Gervasi vineyard to be a place where beauty, tradition, comfort, and appreciation for fresh food and good wine connect. Often compared to the beauty and authenticity of a Tuscan getaway, Gervasi’s product quality is beyond compare. Grapes are selected by the resort’s experienced team and all wines are bottled and cellared on premise. The wines vary, but the quality does not- in fact, eight of Gervasi’s wine took home high honors from the 2016 Fingerlakes International Wine Competition.
That award-winning pedigree continues into the onsite restaurant. Gervasi's Italian Bistro restaurant was named among USA Today’s 10 best winery restaurants. Just relax and allow the incredible staff to recommend something delicious for you, be it antipasti, salad, brick-fired artisan pizza, entree, or dessert. All ingredients are seasonally hand-selected and often grown by local farmers- just don’t forget to ask for what wine pairs best with your meal!
What we’re trying to say is that there simply isn’t a better luxury retreat anywhere in Ohio than Gervasi. It’s telling that even if wine isn’t your thing, you’ll find plenty to love, from delicious (award-winning) food to immaculate landscaping and stunning views of mother nature’s bounty. Be it a day, weekend, or extended period, you’ll never want to leave!
